The country music star Carrie Underwood shocked her fans by singing in Spanish on a new song collaboration with the Spanish heartthrob David Bisbal.

Underwood and Bisbal teamed up for the catchy bilingual song “Tears of Gold,” which dropped on Thursday. The music video, which was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Alexis Morante, the two iconic singers belt out the emotional song, and Underwood even sings in Spanish!

“I am very proud of our first collaboration,” Bisbal said in a statement, according to Entertainment Tonight. “The video was shot in Los Angeles and it was very special because I love Carrie and truly admire her courage. She has shown a profound admiration for the Spanish language with her wonderful vocals on the track and I am honored to collaborate with Carrie on her first bilingual Spanish song. I hope you enjoy the blend of country and pop music on ‘Tears of Gold’ as much as we do.”

“Tears of Gold” is set to be featured on Bisbal’s special limited reissue release of his album, “En Tus Planes,” which is due to come out on December 11.

This comes at a busy time for Underwood, as she recently released her Christmas album “My Gift,” which featured a performance of the classic song “Little Drummer Boy” that included her 5 year-old son Isaiah.

“He loves to sing…and he has such a giving, loving heart about him and I could just hear his voice on it,” she explained in October of the decision to include Isaiah in the album. “So he goes in there and he just gave it his all and it’s so pure and it’s so special and he’s throwing his hands in the air and just so expressive when he was singing it.”

“I was so proud of him, just for giving it his all and the love in his heart because he does love Jesus,” Underwood continued. “At five years old, he knows, and he was giving all the love. I’m very proud of him.”

When asked how she would react if Isaiah ever expresses an interest in following in her musical footsteps, Underwood said she would “definitely be supportive.”

“For whatever it is that he’s feeling like he’s being led to do in life,” Underwood said. “I think he’s gonna be a person of many gifts and we’re gonna see what he wants to do with them. If you ask him right now, it was something like an astronaut, a fireman, then it was like something ridiculous, like Spiderman.”
