Chilling video footage that was released on Tuesday shows the horrifying moment a man dumped his pregnant girlfriend’s body on the side of a highway in Queens, New York.

The video was tweeted out by Rodney Harrison, the NYPD Chief of Detectives. He captioned the footage, “on October 23rd in the confines of the 111th precinct, 29-year-old Vanessa Pierre and her unborn baby were found deceased laying facedown on the sidewalk off of Horace Harding Expressway.”

The clip allegedly shows 29-year-old Goey Charles dragging Pierre’s body out of his vehicle Horace Harding Expressway near Bell Boulevard in Bayside early Friday morning. The video cuts off right after Charles gets back in the driver’s seat.

The city medical examiner’s office found that Pierre’s cause of death was strangulation, with her dying due to asphyxia from compression of the neck. Her death has officially been ruled a homicide.

Police told the New York Post that when Pierre was found, she was wearing an orange shirt and red pajamas, with a sock on one foot. She also had a sweatshirt wrapped around her neck.

Charles, who is from Uniondale, New York, was arrested at around 6pm on Monday and charged with second degree murder. Harrison has since confirmed that Charles has been “apprehended and arrested for the heinous act of killing Vanessa.”

Pierre’s sister Melissa said that she was a nurse practitioner who was six months pregnant with Charles’ child. The baby was a girl who Pierre planned to name Libby Egypt, Melissa said.

“She loved him and she wanted a family but I told her this man is not it,” Melissa said. “I kept telling her this man is not it. Something was just off about him. He was a pathological liar. They moved really fast, been together about a year, less than that. From what it looked like, it looked like he wasn’t really working.”

“That wasn’t his car,” she said of the vehicle in the video. “That was Vanessa’s car.”

Melissa added that her sister never got “into altercations with anybody” and didn’t even raise her voice ever.

“She was very excited about the baby,” she added.
