Earlier this month, we reported that country music star Reba McEntire had revealed that she has found love again five years after her divorce from her husband of 26 years Narvel Blackstock, as she is dating the actor Rex Linn. This week, McEntire confirmed that her romance with Linn is still going strong as she revealed her adorable nickname for him.
McEntire took to Instagram on Monday to post a photo of herself with Linn, captioning it, “Fun in MT with my Sugar Tot!!!”
McEntire announced her relationship with Linn, an alum of “CSI: Miami,” earlier this month on her podcast “Living & Learning.” While talking to guest Kristin Chenoweth and cohost Melissa Peterman, McEntire called Linn a “sweetheart of a guy” as she described how they first started dating.
“We’ve been talking during the pandemic. We had dinner with Rex, was it in January? And then February on, it was the COVID pandemic,” McEntire explained. “We were talking, texting [and using] FaceTime — and that’s a really good way to get to know people.”
“It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she added. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories. Him being an actor, me being an actress. He’s very into my music, I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart and is interested in me too.”
McEntire’s 2015 divorce from Blackstock was incredibly difficult for her, as she admitted afterwards that it had not been her decision.
“The divorce was not my idea. I didn’t want it in any shape, form or fashion. So it was really hard to make the adjustment,” McEntire said. “When someone’s not happy, I just want everybody to be happy in their lives because our lives are too short to be miserable, so I just thought it was the best thing to take my marbles, go play somewhere else.”
Linn is not the first man McEntire has dated since her divorce, as she had a two year relationship with Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo that quietly ended in May of 2019.
“We still talk and we’re friends, but just decided to go our separate ways,” McEntire told US Magazine last year.
