Joey Prusak has worked at the Hopkins, Minnesota, Dairy Queen since he was in 8th grade. The now 19-year-old college student had no intention of getting recognized for his good deed when he assisted a blind customer at his store, but his actions have gone viral.

Prusak is now a manager of the store and says one of the regular customers came in to order. When doing so, he paid with a debit card, but dropped a $20 bill out of his wallet. The woman standing behind him picked up the cash and Prusak thought that she would give the cash back to the customer. Instead, what she did shocked everyone.

The woman, instead of giving the cash back to the rightful owner, put the money in her own purse. Prusak was stunned at the woman’s actions and politely asked her to give the money back to its rightful owner. The woman refused and insisted it was hers. Frustrated with the woman’s actions, Prusak took things into his own hands.

He told the woman if she was going to be that way that she needed to leave his store, and then he proceeded to take a $20 bill from his own wallet and give the gentleman back his money on behalf of the Dairy Queen store. Prusak says it was just the right thing to do.

His actions caught the attention of another customer in the store who took it upon herself to write a letter to the owner of the store telling them what she had witnessed. She was grateful to see the actions of Prusak and thought he needed recognition for his good deed even though Prusak wasn’t looking to be recognized.

Prusak has had several customers come in to the store to thank him for his good deed and offer him money for paying it forward. The Dairy Queen owners also reimbursed Prusak for his kind actions to their customer. Although Prusak says he would do it all over again, he’s a bit shy about all the attention and says that was never the intent of his actions.
