Over the past few weeks, Ellen DeGeneres has been hit with numerous claims by current and former employees that she turned a blind eye to racism, intimidation, and sexual misconduct on the set of her talk show. Now, Degeneres’ longtime DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss has finally broken his silence to address the allegations.

“We can’t speak too much legally about it, but I’ll say this, there’s been love,” Boss, 37, told US Weekly. “Obviously there’s some things to address, but from my standpoint and from countless others, there’s been love. I’ll just leave it at that until there’s a time where we can address more publicly. There’s been love and there’ll will continue to be love.”

Boss went on to say that while he is “of course” anxious to get back to work, he will also “miss this time” at home with his wife and their young children.

“All this time at home, being able to be with the kids and the family and all that, it’s just like you know the day when they’re like, ‘OK, everything’s done everybody go back to work,’ I think everybody’s going to have a little bit of separation anxiety,” he explained.

Though Boss is seemingly standing by DeGeneres, most of his current and former coworkers are singing a very different tune about her.

“If she wants to have her own show and have her name on the show title, she needs to be more involved to see what’s going on,” one former staffer said of DeGeneres. “I think the executive producers surround her and tell her, ‘Things are going great, everybody’s happy,’ and she just believes that, but it’s her responsibility to go beyond that.”

Though DeGeneres finally issued an apology at the end of July, this backfired on her, as she was slammed for placing the blame for what happened on set squarely on her staffers.

“As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done,” DeGeneres said. “Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”

Given the fact that DeGeneres’ brand is all about telling people to “be kind” to one another, it may be difficult for her to recover from this.
