This winter seems to be never ending! Though it’s April, many parts of the United States are still dealing with cold weather, and people have been coming up with cool new tricks to deal with the cold.

One of the worst parts of living in a cold area is having to warm up the car every morning before work. When temperatures dip below 0 degrees, vehicles can end up covered in ice and snow, making the morning commute take even longer. Luckily, a creative new life hack using only a sock is going viral, and it can help you deal with foggy windows very quickly!

All you need for this is to take an old sock that is totally clean and has no holes in it. You also need low-odor cat litter and masking tape. Fill the sock with the litter and cover the opening with masking tape so that none of it can fall out.

Once you have filled your sock with litter, place it on your dashboard, and that’s it! When you return to your vehicle the next morning, there will be no fog. It really is that simple!

This trick works because cat litter absorbs moisture. The sock full of litter on the dashboard essentially leeches the moisture out of the air, reducing the moisture levels so much that it is unable to cause condensation on windows.

Meanwhile, the sock makes it so that the litter does not get all over your car, and since you should be using low-odor litter, you won’t be able to smell it either!
