Most pets hate saying goodbye to their owners in the morning when they go to work. When this cat’s owner left, however, he decided to take matters into his own hands!

Meet Louis, an adorable Savannah cat who loves his owner, Darren Sherlock, and hates being home alone.

Darren had no idea that Louis actually has not been staying at his house while he was at work, and has instead been taking part in cat adventures out in the real world! Darren only learned that Louis likes spending his days outside when he bumped into his own cat out of the blue recently!

When Darren woke up for work one morning, he didn’t see Louis, but he figured the cat was just hiding somewhere.

“What happened yesterday morning is normally his routine is he’ll annoy us until we wake up and feed him and then he’ll go out for the day,” Darren recounted. “When we woke up he wasn’t there and he was nowhere to be found so we both went to work thinking he’d come back soon. I was driving down the road and went past this place where I know he hangs out sometimes, and low and behold there he was.”

Louis could not hide his excitement when he saw his owner, but Darren was a little confused as to what to do next, since he did not want to be late for work!

“He jumped in the car and then I didn’t know whether to push him out the car because I needed to go to work, but I didn’t want to do that, so I drove him home, gave him some breakfast and then went to work,” Darren said.

Darren thought the interaction was so funny that he posted on Twitter – He never expected it to go viral!

“I couldn’t really get my head around the reaction on Twitter and when I woke up the next morning my partner nudged me and said it was on 50k retweets,” Darren said. “I only took that picture to send it to my partner Sam that I’d found him, and it was only because of his funny face that I put it on Twitter.”

Darren is one lucky guy to have such an adorable and smart little cat!
