Pop star Justin Bieber just took to social media to thank Jesus Christ for forgiveness and to urge his 130 million followers to find God and embrace Christianity.
Bieber posted a selfie of himself along with the caption, “Thank you Jesus for my life. Thank you for your forgiveness! Thank you for showing me I am enough! Thank you that I no longer have to carry shame but can walk with my chest up and head held high knowing I am loved, chosen, and forgiven!”
“If you struggle with your past give it to Jesus! He isn’t burdened by it! He loves you and is honored to know all of little details good and bad in your life! He isn’t angry with you, he wants the best for you!” he added.
The 26 year-old singer later reposted this selfie to his Instagram story with the caption, “Jesus loves you [whether] you believe it or not.”
This comes months after Bieber opened up to Billboard about his relationship with God, talking about the “free gift” of accepting Jesus into one’s life.
“The way I look at my relationship with God and with Jesus is, I’m not trying to earn God’s love by doing good things,” Bieber said back in February.
“God has already loved me for who I am before I did anything to earn and deserve it. It’s a free gift by accepting Jesus, and just giving your life to Him. And what he did is the gift, the forgiveness is the thing that we look at and, ‘I’m going to worship you, God, because you gave me something so good.’ And so you live that life of like, ‘I don’t want to cheat on my wife, not because it’s the right thing to do, but because I don’t want to hurt her,’ see the difference there?”
Bieber also said earlier this year that not saving his virginity for marriage to wife Hailey Baldwin is his biggest regret in life.
“If I could go back and not have to face some of the bad hurt that I went through, I probably would’ve saved myself for marriage,” said Bieber, 26, according to Fox News.
He added that even though it sounds “crazy,” he thinks sex can complicate a relationship before marriage.
“Sex can be kind of confusing when you’re just being sexually active with anybody. We went there. It’s just true,” Bieber said.
“I probably would have saved myself for marriage.”
