At 40 years of age, Angela hadn’t changed her hairstyle in 30 years. However, after seeing photos of herself at a friend’s birthday party, she finally realized it was time for her to make a change: she was ready to get rid of her long hair!

Desperate to get the best haircut she could, Angela reached out to Minneapolis-based hairstyle Christopher Hopkins, a.k.a. The Makeover Guy.

“I need… I need some help,” she told Hopkins in the video below.

“You need some paint,” he replied.

Angela explained that she had kept her hair long for so long because that’s what her husband liked.

“But then it came to the point where I was shedding more than my dogs,” she said. “I’m tired of it. I can’t do anything with it. I’m up for whatever.”

Angela knew exactly what she wanted as well: she said she wanted the hair that Robin Wright rocks in her show “House of Cards.”

“She said it. She wants it. Because people will be like ‘Why did you cut off all that beautiful hair!’ This will be great,” Hopkins said. “I get hate mail over it [cutting long hair off].”

As Hopkins cut off her hair, however, Angela made it clear that she will not miss it at all.

“That feels so good,” she said. “I love it. Byeee.”

Angela could not believe it when Hopkins handed her over two feet of her own hair! She also loved running her hands through her new short locks.

“Yeah!” she said. “That is wonderful.”

“I would like to see what I can look like when someone who knows what they’re doing can help me out,” she explained. “Because I’m clueless, I’m a tomboy. And I like to look good but I’m just not sure what to do.”

Hopkins ended up cutting Angela’s hair very short and adding some “paint” to it in the form of hair dye to make it look totally different!

“I’m stunned I’ve never felt this beautiful in my life,” said Angela. “I was second-guessing my decision at first. I was excited to do it. You’re just always so excited to make a big change like this and it turned out so much better than I thought it could. So if you’re on the fence I couldn’t encourage you enough.”
