Rumor have been swirling over the past few days that disgraced actress Lori Loughlin is preparing to join the reality show “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Now, the show’s executive producer Andy Cohen has broken his silence to finally address these rumors.
“There is a whole narrative, apparently, that I am pursuing Lori Loughlin for ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ “And the first I heard about that was Twitter. But, it’s not true,” Cohen said, according to The Sun.
“By the way, Lori Loughlin is a very nice person,” he added. “She’s going to have quite a story to tell, and she’s always been lovely. Anyway, that is not true.”
This comes one month after Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud. They had been accused of paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. They then spent over a year fighting these charges and maintaining their innocence before finally pleading guilty.
Under the terms of her plea deal, Loughlin will be spending two months in prison, pay a $150,000 fine, and have two years of supervised release with 100 hours of community service. Meanwhile, her husband sentence will be five months in prison, a $250,000 fine, and two years of supervised release with 250 hours of community service.
A source close to the couple told In Touch that despite the fact that she fought the charges against her, Loughlin “knew she would lose at trial.”
“It’s not going to be easy for them – especially Lori, who’s used to living very comfortably and having it all,” the source said. “Lori and Mossimo tried everything to get out of this, but in the end, they knew they’d lose at trial.”
The insider added that Loughlin and Giannulli are now focused on “bracing themselves for prison.”
