Meghan Markle will undoubtedly not be happy to learn that a royal expert just spoke out to say that her experience as a “B-list actress” on the USA television show “Suits” did nothing to prepare her for royal life.

Renowned royal expert Katie Nicholl told 9Honey that whatever fame Meghan may have had as an actress would not have prepared her for life as a royal at all.

“I think what she encountered was almost impossible to prepare for and certainly her experience as a B-List actress wasn’t going to stand her in [good] stead,” Nicholl said.

When Prince Harry first announced his engagement to Meghan, many experts speculated that her experience as an actress would allow her to handle the spotlight of being a royal more easily. However, Meghan later admitted in the couple’s tour documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” that had not expected the intense level of scrutiny she received from the press.

“As an actress, she was used to being photographed but she’s said herself there was this suggestion that she would be able to handle the press attention and find her way in the spotlight because of her previous experience,” Nicholl explained. “Whereas actually, I think what she encountered was almost impossible to prepare for and certainly her experience as a B-list actress wasn’t going to stand her in [good] stead for suddenly becoming the most famous woman in the world.”

“It became very apparent from that documentary in Africa, that perhaps while she made it look easy, it obviously wasn’t easy,” the expert added.

Daily Mail reported that Meghan had opened up in that documentary about her struggles to adapt to being a royal.

“I’ve said for a long time to H—that’s what I call him—it’s not enough to just survive something, right? That’s not the point of life,” she said. “You’ve got to thrive, you’ve got to feel happy.”

Meghan and Harry have since stepped down as senior members of the British royal family, and they have since moved to her hometown of Los Angeles, California. There, they are currently staying in the $18 million mansion of Hollywood tycoon Tyler Perry with their 1 year-old son Archie while they look for a home of their own in the area.
