When an Indiana teenager decided to wait in line to buy some cupcakes at a bake sale, she was not expecting her physical appearance to be attacked. Instead of letting these negative comments ruin her day, however, the teen decided to get revenge in an epic way.

Vega Blossom, 19, headed to her local bakery when she heard that they were having a cupcake sale. Vega intended to buy six cupcakes to take home, but she soon changed her mind when something devastating happened in line.

The woman ahead of Vega in line took a long time to order, so when it was finally the teenager’s turn to order, she was relieved. However, it was then that Vega heard the two women behind her clearly say, “Thank God, now let’s hope this fat b*$#* doesn’t order all the cupcakes.”

Vega had grown up chubby and is now a size 18, so she was used to bullies calling her overweight, but that doesn’t mean the words don’t still hurt her.

“When I heard the nasty things the women said, I honestly wanted to cry,” said Vega. “It really hurt my feelings. How could these grown women be so mean to someone they’ve never met, let alone talked to? Growing up a chubbier girl, I always got snide comments about my weight from people who, for some reason, think it’s their business.”

Instead of letting these women get away with body shaming her, Vega decided to get even. Instead of buying the six cupcakes she had come there to purchase, Vega bought all 20 of the remaining cupcakes, leaving none for the mean women. BOOM!

“Things like this usually wouldn’t bug me, but the fact that I didn’t know these women, and they said this so rudely and loudly-so I could obviously hear it was different than other times,” Vega said of the free lesson in karma she gave the women. “But I swallowed the hurt and thought of the best possible thing I could do back to them that wasn’t horrible, but that would teach them a lesson about respecting others.”

Best of all, staffers at the bakery heard what the women said, and decided to give all of the cupcakes to Vega for free!

Vega ended up bringing the cupcakes back to the Starbucks she works at so that she could share them with her coworkers and friends.
