When Tony and Theresa Hall learned they were expecting a baby girl, they were extremely excited and relieved when prenatal tests also showed that she was perfectly healthy. However, as soon as their daughter Cody was born, the Halls immediately saw that something was wrong that would lead to some difficulties in her life.
Little Cody was born with the birth defect of a hemangioma under her left eye, a condition that causes stem cells to become benign tumors. Though she was perfectly healthy mentally, Cody was left with an enormous mark on her face.

Tony and Theresa were determined to raise Cody like a normal child and not hide her away from the rest of the world. Unfortunately, the rest of the world were not as kind to them as they hoped they would be.
“In England, our neighbor asked my wife if we put a bag over [Cody’s] head when we took her out,” Tony recalled. “The hardest thing is the stares and comments from the ignorant people in this world who don’t understand what’s going on with her.”

Cody’s condition only worsened over time, and it became apparent that she needed surgery. Tony and Teresa brought her to California plastic surgeon Dr. David Apfelberg, who was finally able to remove the growth with a few laser treatments. The Halls were relieved that Cody’s growth was gone, but she was still left with large scars that would make it difficult for her to live a normal life. They brought her to Dr. Milton Waner to get rid of these pesky scars.
“She had extensive tissue destruction,” Dr. Waner told Fox News. “We performed several procedures to restore her face back to normalcy.”
Cody had 18 operations over 14 years of her life, and new photos of her show just how much they paid off!

“She looks much, much better now,” Dr. Waner announced. “If you saw her walking on the street, you would never know she had had any problems.”
Cody is now able to live a normal life without being stared at and bullied by strangers!

Things got even better for Cody in November of last year, when she married the love of her life!
“It was an emotional day and there were some tears,” Cody explained, “especially when I saw [my husband] at the altar, but only tears of joy. I just want to show people that there is a happy ending.”

We’re so glad to see that Cody’s story had a happy ending! God bless her, and the parents who stood by her no matter what!
