Abby Lee Miller of “Dance Moms” fame just took her first steps in months after a grueling cancer battle left her confined to a wheelchair.

The 52-year-old took her first steps during an appearance on “The Doctors” this week along with Dr. Travis Stork. On the show, Abby stood up and took a few steps while holding onto her walker.

“Everybody put your hands together and pray,” Abby said. “This is so scary, you have no idea.”

Abby’s doctor Lawrence Piro explained that she had both back surgery and a knee replacement this summer. He added that while it takes most patients six months to get back into shape, Abby has done so well in rehab that she is already doing great after just three.

As she prepared to take her first steps in months, Abby seemed to be feeling brave.

“If she can stand on her own and take a few steps, that would be great,” said Piro.

Abby then used her walker to pull herself up and proceeded to take a few steps. Though she did not go very far, taking any steps at all was a huge achievement for her after everything she has been through. As she took the steps, Abby smiled before she started to cry tears of joy.

Abby was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, back in April of 2018. Thankfully, she has been cancer-free for the past six months and has returned to her hit television show.
