Millennials are people born between 1981 and 1996, and while we certainly aren’t very old, we can’t help but feel ancient when we look at Generation Z. Now, a new online trend has millennials sharing photos of various things from their childhoods that Generation Z knows nothing about.
Those in Generation Z, who were born between 1997 and 2015, have been left absolutely clueless by the various items their Millennial counterparts used “back in the day.” Though Millennials are still looked at as rowdy delinquents by Baby Boomers and Generation X, we can’t direct our anger at them for difficult childhood years anymore. Instead, all we can do is feel bitterly jealous that members of Generation Z are growing up with incredible gadgets and technology that we never could have imagined when we were young.
Millennials were forced to SUFFER through things like Polaroid cameras, ridiculous circle-eared alarm clocks, radio cassette players, 3MB floppy disks, antenna-wired monstrosities as cell phones, RGB cables, and Word Perfect. Meanwhile, Generation Z members have smartphones, plasma TVs, external hard drives, and digital cameras. In today’s world of high tech video games, kids don’t even know what a Game Boy is!
Millennials have been amazed that members of Generation Z are unaware of what so many of the items we find immediately recognizable actually are. That’s why we decided to take to social media to share some of the “gadgets” that we grew up with, and Generation Z was left totally stumped by them.
