If you’ve ever watched any type of gymnastics, then you know that the strength and talent they possess is nothing short of amazing. The twists, turns, leaps, and jumps are something most of us can only dream of being able to do. While all of them are talented, some of them rise above the rest, such is the case of Russian gymnast Daria Kondakova.
This talented rhythmic gymnast was born in Sochi, Russia, and stood out among other gymnasts at a young age. She has already won three silver medals in the World Cup, and as a junior gymnast won a gold medal in 2006 at the Holon Junior Grand Prix and Calais International Tournament.
In 2008 and 2009 she was a part of the Russian gymnast international group and won a silver medal in her first competition as a senior competitor. In 2010 and 2011, Kondakova won additional silver medals in the clubs, hoop, ball, and ribbon.

Kondakova is obviously dedicated to the sport and her talent shines during her competitions. As you can see in the video below, during the 2011 World Championships in Montpellier, France, she performs a dazzling ball routine using a gold ball and wearing a matching leotard.
Her routine starts in the middle of the mat with Kondakova on her back laying on top of the ball. When the music begins she bounces to her feet and the choreography begins. Her fast moves and talent handling the gold ball are amazing!
Watch the video below to see why Kondakova may stay in the spotlight for years to come.
