Living in a first world country like the United States, many of us take things that we have for granted. Now, a video is going viral that will remind you how lucky we are to have something as simple as a pair of shoes.

A new viral video shows the joyous reaction of a woman from Uganda after a stranger gifts her with her first ever pair of shoes. Laura Grier was being driven through Bwindi National Park earlier this month when she suddenly felt compelled to give the woman her shoes off her own feet.

Laura’s driver got out of the vehicle and helped to put the shoes on the woman’s feet. When the Ugandan woman saw that they fit perfectly, she burst into a happy dance that absolutely exuded all of the joy that she was feeling, and it has touched the hearts of social media users everywhere.

“When I saw the woman on the side of the road barefoot, I urged my driver to stop,” Laura explained. “The woman was barefoot and had never owned shoes before, so we stopped the car to pull over and give them to her, and her reaction to wearing the shoes was priceless!”

Life in the U.S. may seem challenging at times for some of us, but this video shows us how lucky we are to have so many of the blessings that we have in our country.
