When UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi took the mat for the Pac 12 Championships, the audience was in full anticipation for her performance knowing she had previously garnered perfect scores for her routines. They were anxious to see if Katelyn could, once again, earn a perfect 10.

Katelyn had been waiting for the championships all year, and she certainly did not disappoint. By the end of the routine, Katelyn had won over both the crowd and the judges alike.

Katelyn had spent most of her young life tirelessly training so that she could perfect her gymnastics skills. Though she is known in the college gymnastics world for scoring perfect tens on several occasions, she had never performed a routine quite as well as this one.

Katelyn performed to a Michael Jackson song. As the dance music played, Katelyn propelled herself from corner to corner of the mat, flipping, tumbling and twirling while the crowd cheered her on. Even her team was stunned by how amazing Katelyn’s moves were!

As soon as Katelyn finished her routine, the entire UCLA gymnastics team rushed to the mat, embracing her for doing such a spectacular job. When the scores finally were released, it was clear the judges agreed that Katelyn’s routine was pure perfection!

Katelyn has previously spoken out against abuse in the gymnastics world, saying that she has been subjected to mental and verbal torture that was “never acknowledged” and “ignored.”

“Time for change has been long overdue,” she said. “We are now crying out and demanding that our voices be heard once and for all and that all of our reports are taken seriously and not simply swept under the rug, because exactly as sexual abuse leave its undying marks, this type of verbal abuse does as well.”

Her amazing routine shows that Katelyn has overcome the abuse that she has faced and is ready to show the world her amazing talents. Check out her performance in the video below, and SHARE this story so we can spread this epic video!
