Todd Laudenklos is a cattle rancher from Nebraska who was devastated when he just lost his entire herd in a flood. Afterwards, he was brought to tears when his community performed a beautiful act of kindness for him.

Todd often travels to the Lolli Livestock Market in Macon, Missouri to both sell his cattle and help out with the overall event.

“He helps us during the auction, he comes from Nebraska, and helps often during the sales because we bring in extra people to help,” explained Laura Schwieter, one of the officials behind the market.

Blake Coble is one person who has befriended Todd in the years they’ve both attended the event, and he just took to social media to reveal what happened when the Nebraskan came to the event this year.

“One of my dear friends lost his whole herd (27 head) of Watusi cattle in all the flooding in Nebraska,” Blake wrote. “During the Watusi sale in Macon, Missouri the owners of the sale barn stopped the sale and brought him in the sale ring and bought a bull and donated the profits to him so he could build his herd back up.”

“The person that bought the bull immediately donated the profits again and resold the bull again. Shortly after a gentlemen bought him another Watusi and donated it to him,” he continued. “After that, they took donations for Him and I was shocked…. Person after person stood up and donated $100… $100….$200…$100…$100. This went on for 20 minutes and at least 50 or 60 folks.”

“He was trying to be strong, but I saw tears flowing from his eyes,” Blake concluded. “This is how I know there is still so many good people in this world!”

In the end, over $5,000 was raised for Todd at the event. It’s so nice to see a community come together to help one of their own in this way!
