Each year for Easter, special celebrations take place at the White House in Washington D.C. and this year was no exception. What made this year exceptionally different than in years past were the colorful decorations that donned the President’s property both inside and outside.

While First Lady Melania Trump tends to lean towards beautiful, traditional decorations, for Easter she decked out the inside of the White House with bright balloons and other spring themed Easter decorations as well as plenty of candy. The entrance included a green and pink ballooned archway with bunny ears that Melania posted pictures of on Twitter.

President Trump and Melania kicked off the event with the traditional egg roll across the White House lawn. Activities for the family-friendly event also included an Easter egg hunt, music stage, reading nook, egg dyeing station, cooking decorating, card making for U.S. troops, lawn bowling, tennis activities, colorful character costumes, and a coloring wall.

First Lady Melania read the first book to the children in the reading nook. Other readers included General Joseph Keith Jr., Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, Secretary Betsy DeVos, and many more.

The Trump family also attended church as part of their Easter festivities. The couple appeared at the Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal church in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday where Melania chose a cheerful red and white dress as she and President Trump held hands and entered the church.
