A video is going viral this week that shows how powerful teamwork really is.
Amish people have a disciplined and simple way of life, foregoing modern technology of any kind. So when it came time to move this enormous barn to a new property, they had no choice but to team up to do the deed together by hand. First, the Amish men built the barn together by hand, and then, two hundred of them came together to move it.

Amish folks live quiet lives in the countryside, and farming is their main source of income. Self-propelled farming equipment is frowned upon by the Amish, so they do most of their farm labor manually. As a result of this way of life, neighbors in the Amish community are more willing to help one another than many neighbors in our society are, as they have no option but to depend on one another.

The video below shows a moment that was captured at 9am on a Saturday morning at Joseph Hochstetler’s Farm on Snively Road. Around two hundred Amish men arrived in horse drawn carriages to help move the barn. They knew that their neighbor needed their help, and they were all too happy to oblige!
Though it was 90 degrees outside, the men lifted the barn together and carried it 150 feet to a new location. Because they used teamwork, the entire process took them only a few minutes!

This just goes to show how much easier things can be when we work together as a team. We could all learn a lot from the way the Amish live their lives!
