When it comes time to audition for a reality television competition, most singers go the safe route by singing a song that they are completely comfortable with. Others, however, take a risk and sing a song that nobody would expect them to sing. While this can backfire sometimes, it just paid off in a big way for singer Mike Rice, who brought the house down with Tina Turner’s hit song “Proud Mary!”

Mike rocked his performance so much that he was able to impress not just one, but all 100 of the judges on the British television show “All Together Now!”

Mike was understandably nervous at first, as this audition was taking place in front of 100 judges from all different aspects of the music industry. On top of that, he had to beat out three other singers in order to move on to the next round. Mike began to feel more comfortable as soon as he started to sing, and the judges saw right away that there was something special about him.

As Mike reached the upbeat portion of the song, all of the judges got up and started dancing, giving him an instant boost of confidence.

After seeing the video below, it should come as no surprise that Mike went on to win the entire competition. He is now preparing to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he will be performing “Bigger than Us.”

It is clear that this singer is on the cusp of becoming an international superstar! Check out his performance below!
