Dogs are known as man’s best friend because of the incredible love and loyalty that they show to humans. Now, a story is going viral that shows this in a beautiful way.
Capitán was a German Shepherd mix who recently passed away after spending eleven years watching over his master’s grave. After Capitán’s owner Miguel passed away, his widow Veronica and son Damián could not find the dog anywhere. They thought the dog had run away amidst his grief, but they were stunned to find him at Miguel’s grave when they went to visit it days later.
Nobody could explain how the dog knew where Miguel was buried, but he refused to leave the gravesite and return home.

Cemetery staffers grew to love Capitán, and they took care of his every need. They took care of all of his immunizations, and even rushed him to the local veterinarian when he broke his leg. Capitán would return home at times and would run around the cemetery, but he would always return to Miguel’s grave at 6pm and stay there all night.
Four years ago, Capitán was diagnosed with kidney failure, but the family decided to let him live out his days in the cemetery rather than put him down.

After eleven years of standing guard over his master’s grave, Capitán finally passed away. His story serves as a reminder to all about how loving and loyal dogs really are. While Capitán is dearly missed, all who knew him are comforted by the fact that he is now with his beloved master in heaven.
