One of the saddest moments in movie history is the moment that Mufasa dies in the 1994 Disney classic movie The Lion King. While we all know that humans have cried at this scene, a new video is going viral showing that dogs are impacted by it as well.

When Josh Myers and his girlfriend recently sat down to watch The Lion King, their dog Luna was engrossed in her toys at first. However, it did not take long for her to become fixated on the movie.

The moment in the movie when Mufasa plunged to his death from the cliff, Luna dropped her toys and stared at the screen heartbroken. Josh and his girlfriend were then stunned when she actually began to cry as she watched the sad cinematic moment!

“’Anything you feel, I can feel too,’ Josh quoted as he shared the video on Facebook. “Hannah and I were watching the Lion King while Luna played wildly with her toys. But right as Mufasa falls to his death, she stops and turns to the TV to watch. To see her crying at the TV was the sweetest thing I think I’ve ever seen. She even lays down right after Simba lays with his dad….We don’t deserve dogs. ? 4 months old and she’s already showing empathy.

This video serves as a reminder that dogs really do feel many of the same emotions that humans feel. No wonder they are known as man’s best friend!
