Sibling dogs share an incredible bond, and a story is going viral this week that shows this bond in a beautiful way.
Back in August, two sick puppies were brought to the Africano Centre, a veterinary clinic in Cairo, Egypt. Staffers at the clinic saw immediately that the brother and sister dogs were extremely close.

The dogs were both diagnosed with Parvo, a serious viral illness found in puppies that affects the gut, intestines, lymphopoietic tissues, bone marrow, and sometimes the heart. Though the illness can be deadly, 62-98% of dogs treated by veterinary professionals survive the illness, especially if they get treatment within the first three to four days.
When Dr. Mohammad Bu Yahya started treating the dogs, they were not doing well at all. Four days later, the male dog was doing better, but the female was still in bad shape. The veterinarian explained that he cared for the dogs “night and day,” and when he went to check on them at one point, he found the male puppy snuggled on his sister and comforting her with a look of sadness in his eyes.

The vet posted video of the dogs to social media along with the caption, “[the brother] shows the love and care for his sister and is asking us to take care of her.” It’s so beautiful to see the loyalty and love that this brother has for his sister!
