Sybil Hicks recently became a viral sensation after she penned her own obituary, which was published on February 2 in the Hamilton Spectator in Hamilton, Canada. Instead of making her obituary solemn as most are, Sybil made hers full of jokes, including one about cremation that is particularly hilarious.

“I finally have the smoking-hot body I have always wanted … having been cremated,” Sybil wrote.

In the obituary, Sybil also referred to her “loving husband” as “Horse’s A**” and referenced the “children whom I tolerated over the years.”

She ended the obituary by encouraging others to celebrate her life rather than mourn her death.

“For those of you who are wondering who assisted me in writing this … it wasn’t my husband, it wasn’t my oldest, nor it was my youngest … Thank you all for sharing my life with me. I am off to swim to the buoy and back,” she concluded.

Social media users can’t get enough of the obituary.

Barb Drummond, Sybil’s daughter, explained that her mother died at the age of 81 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. She added that her mother was “never boring.”

“Our mom had a fantastic sense of humor,” Barb said. “Mom lived large. She would do anything for anyone. It was rare for Mom not to have a smile on her face. Mom was always ready for a laugh. Mom had the ability to laugh at herself — just like the silly picture in her obituary. It was taken at a time when she and Dad were helping our youngest brother build his house. [There was] no running water so she hadn’t showered. It was no big deal to Mom, and she made faces for the camera.”

“Too bad the world didn’t get a chance to know her like we did,” she added of Sybil. “She was pretty cool.”
