A touching patriotic video is going viral this week showing an Iowa crowd sing a stirring rendition of the national anthem at a high school basketball game last Friday.
The video was shot at a girls high school basketball game in North Polk and was posted to social media by WHO TV Channel 13 News.
“Here’s something that made for a cool start to senior night at North Polk. Due to technical issues, the recording of the national anthem wasn’t able to play before North Polk and Roland-Story tipped off,” the station wrote alongside the video. “But that didn’t faze anyone in the gym.”
The powerful moment was captured after a recording of the national anthem failed to play. Without hesitating, players, referees and fans supporting both the North Polk and Roland-Story teams joined together to sing an incredible rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” that is sure to make you proud to be an American!
“So the recording of the national anthem didn’t work at the game tonight. So the entire room sang the national anthem and no one missed a single beat,” reporter Sam Lozada posted on Twitter.
The video has quickly gone viral, being viewed over 285,000 times in less than a week!
“The National Anthem is the only song that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “That’s the way it should be done all the time…”
“Wonderful show of patriotism … heartwarming,” a third user commented.
