The worst fear that all parents have is that they will outlive their children. Sadly, this is exactly the situation that the parents of 1 year-old Alondra Torres Arias found themselves in when she passed away from pneumonia last month.

When doctors informed Jenni Barraza and her husband that their daughter was brain dead, the young parents had to say a heartbreaking goodbye to their little girl. They then made the difficult decision to have Alondra’s organs donated in the hopes of saving other children.
“I talked to her and kissed her until the last minute,” Jenni said.
Staffers at the hospital in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico decided to give Alondra a touching tribute in emotional footage that has since gone viral. As Alondra was wheeled to the operating room, she passed a line of doctors, nurses, and other medical staffers who formed a guard of honor. The medical staffers joined hands in prayer as the baby girl passed them on her way to surgery.

“I never walked more proud and with my head high,” Jenni said of the powerful moment. “I have the great comfort of having helped save 3 babies, the death of my girl was not in vain.”

Video of the incredible moment has quickly gone viral, and Jenni and her husband have since received support from people from all over the world.
“God bless you always and help you relieve your pain,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Thank you for the great act of love that you made, a part of your beautiful princess will continue to live in three little ones and in the hearts of thousands of people who will not forget. God will make up for it and bless you abundantly.”
We hope little Alondra rests in peace, and that those who love her can take some comfort in the fact that she helped save the lives of three other small children. She will never be forgotten!
