Last week, country music star Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher announced that they had welcomed their second son, Jacob Bryan Fischer, on January 21.

Though Carrie was the first to reveal the news to the world, Mike took to Instagram hours later to post a photo of his newborn son and give thanks to God for his birth.

“Jacob Bryan Fisher! You are a gift from our Lord!” Mike wrote. “The last few years has has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet! We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect! He is good all the time even in the difficult times that are hard to understand.”

He then added the hashtags #grateful #miraclebaby.

The #miraclebaby refers to how much trouble Mike and Carrie had conceiving a second child. When Carrie announced that she was pregnant last July, she admitted to her fans that she suffered three miscarriages after the birth of her first son Isaiah, who was born in February of 2015.

“I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music and I have a baby,” she said at the time. “We got pregnant early 2017, and it didn’t work out. In the beginning, it was like, ‘Okay, God, we know this just wasn’t your timing. And that is all right. We will bounce back and figure our way through it.'”

“We got pregnant again in the spring, and it didn’t work out,” she continued. “Got pregnant again, early 2018. Didn’t work out. So, at that point, it was just kind of like, ‘OK, like, what’s the deal? What is all of this?’”

This serves as a reminder that no matter what God puts us through, he always has a plan for us if we keep Him close!
