A woman from Washington state was opening presents on Christmas morning when she found that she had been given a brand-new Instant Pot.
When Shiloah Avery of Port Orchard took the Instant Pot out of the packaging, she was stunned to find a wedding ring inside of it.

The wedding ring was beautiful, and Shiloah knew someone must be missing it dearly. She first called the Instant Pot company, but when she was only given a support ticket, she knew she had to do something else. Luckily, we live in the age of social media, so Shiloah decided to take to Facebook to track down whoever the ring belonged to.

By the time night fell on Christmas, Shiloah had found the owner! The ring belonged to JoAnn Johnson, also of Port Orchard, who was able to sketch out the ring for Shiloah to prove that the ring belonged to her. Shiloah immediately returned the ring to JoAnn, who got it back just days before her 20th wedding anniversary!
JoAnn was particularly happy to get her ring back in time for the cruise she was about to embark on with her husband to celebrate their anniversary. She described Shiloah as “such an honest person.”

This story caused many to wonder how the ring ended up in the Instant Pot in the first place. JoAnn had actually been shopping for an Instant Pot with her husband when they noticed one on display, so they lifted the lid to take a look. JoAnn believes that it was then that her ring fell off and ended in the appliance.

JoAnn realized that her ring was missing about 15 minutes later, and though they looked all over the store, they could not find it. Though they talked to customer service and posted on Facebook, JoAnn said that they “had totally given up hope of ever finding it.”
“For Shiloah to find a ring and reach out in all the ways she could think of makes her an exceptional person to me,” JoAnn said. “She is my Christmas angel. And having become friends with her through all this, she really IS a sweetheart with a good heart!”
With all the negativity in the world today, it’s so nice to see that there are still people in the world who are doing good for others!
