A barber from Houston, Texas is gaining national fame due to her incredible skills with hair, and because she is just 7 years-old!

Alijah Hernandez, 7, has been watching her father Franky cut hair at his barbershop in Houston ever since she can remember. She was only 4 years-old when she started showing signs that she was a barber prodigy with the skills of someone much older than them.

“I taught her the right maneuvers, and her watching me over time, I was guiding her in the right direction with her hand movements,” Franky explained.

Alijah has her own Instagram page with over 2,000 followers where she shows off her amazing barber skills.

Alijah said that she loves cutting hair and that it was a skill that came to her naturally.

“A fade is when you’re cutting hair and it shows the detail of your cut,” she said as she talked about one of the skills she has mastered.

Though Alijah won’t be able to get her professional barber’s license for many years, Franky said that she has become a popular source of haircuts for family and friends alike. In addition, Alijah has already started competing in barber competitions across Texas, and her family would like to raise money for her to compete in national competitions as well.

Alijah hopes that she can encourage other kids to develop a skill like hers at an early age.

“I call it inspiring other kids to come out and do the same thing,” she said.
