While most car accidents aren’t something to laugh about, this particular one will tickle your funny bone. After all, it wasn’t caused so much by humans, but instead was the result of a dog that couldn’t resist the smell of bacon!
Paul Shearn and his family were headed out to spend the weekend at his grandparents’ farm. However, Paul and his dog, Elvis decided to head out a bit before the rest of the family. They loaded into the truck with the camper in tow and had a container of bacon grease in the truck to use in a cast iron skillet. But Paul made a quick stop at a store in Owensboro, Kentucky, to grab a few more supplies.

He left Elvis alone in the truck with the air conditioner running. He told the 13-year-old dog to be good and headed inside. He didn’t expect to be gone long, but still didn’t want to leave the dog shut in the car and risk him getting hot.
Still, Paul never expected what happened next to occur. He saw a police officer headed towards his truck when he came outside, but he couldn’t seem to see anything wrong. That is, until he realized his truck had been moved.

His truck had moved five or six parking spaces forward and struck the side of a car. As it turns out, that bacon grease played a vital part in this entire story.
You see, Paul had left it on the dash of his truck, and although Elvis is a well-behaved senior pooch, he just couldn’t resist the smell of bacon. When he went for the bacon grease he shifted the truck into gear!

Luckily for Paul, no one was injured. Actually, when everyone realized what was going on they found it rather humorous, even David Adams, the driver of the other car.

Paul says they exchanged information and then he got it all on video so he and David would have proof of what happened to show their friends. The video has since gone viral.
