When you watch some of the talent shows on television, you never know exactly what you are going to see. So when someone with extraordinary talent steps on stage, sometimes it blows you away.

That’s exactly what happened on the X Factor UK’s series. Jahmene Douglas admits that he’s a rather shy person. He’s just a stay at home kind of guy. But there’s one thing he has always loved to do. That one thing that Jahmene loves to do is sing. And man can he sing. The minute his voice filled the air, everyone looked up in shock to see if the voice they were hearing really came from the young man on stage.

Although he was nervous before his performance, so much so that his hands were visibly shaking, as soon as he stepped on the stage it was as if he transformed.

He performed Etta James’ song “At Last” and couldn’t have done it any better. Etta recorded the song for her album that she released in 1960 and had a ton of success with the song. Several artists, including Beyonce, have recorded it after her.

Jahmene was able to hit the notes perfectly and you can tell just by watching him that he loved being on stage. There wasn’t a bit of nervousness or shyness in the sound of his voice.

Although Jahmene only managed to finish in second place that season, his life changed dramatically. He has released his own album and received a nomination for the Best Newcomer at the MOBO awards.
