Rumors have been swirling over the past few weeks that a massive rift has formed between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry and their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. Now, these rumors have been given more credence after Harry and Meghan did not attend Kate’s 37th birthday celebration at Anmer Hall, the country home she shares with William.
Kate threw an intimate party that was attended by all of her closest friends, yet Harry and Meghan weren’t there. While this may be because Harry and Meghan were abroad at the time, this could also be the latest evidence that there is indeed a rift in the family that began with Kate and Meghan not getting along.
Harry and Meghan moved out of Kensington Palace back in November, and at the time, sources said that this was largely because they no longer wanted to live so close to William and Kate. A royal source admitted that there “has been some tension” between the two couples.
“Meghan and Kate have different interests and lead different lives,” the source said. Another insider added that William and Harry’s relationship has changed since the latter’s marriage last May, saying, “Wives do change the dynamic, and they both have very strong wives.”
“If you bring two independent-minded women from the real world into the Royal world, they are going to want to have an impact,” the source continued.
If these rumors are true, we hope that Kate and Meghan will be able to set aside their differences and learn to get along. It would be a shame if this rift continued to get wider and broke up the royal family!
