The British royal family has been hiring lots of new employees as of late, as last week they hired hired a new communications assistant, a new butler, and a kitchen porter, among others. Now, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles have announced that they are looking to hire a personal assistant to come and work with them at St. James Palace.
Whoever is hired for this position will be responsible for doing many things for the future king and his wife. The job posting states that the list of duties includes “managing diaries, arranging meetings, organizing and assisting with visits, events and travel, and undertaking recces with senior members of staff.” On top of that, the new assistant will need to handle all incoming telephone calls and respond to emails and inquiries about the pair.
The job listing states that whoever gets the position must have prior experience as a personal assistant and must also have experience managing complex diaries. The person must also be well-versed in drafting “high volume correspondence,” which all essentially means that they are looking for someone who has prior experience working for a CEO, celebrity, politician, or some other royal around the world.
The job listing went on to say that the person must also be a tech expert, be flexible, have “excellent organization and communication skills” and “a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks.”
“Candidates will have the ability to liaise with a broad spectrum of people in order to develop good working relationships and will have experience of working constructively and collaboratively,” the job listing continued. “The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times is paramount.”
This sounds like quite a difficult job, so we hope that Charles and Camilla find the right person.
