With all the negativity in the world today, it’s easy to forget that there are still people around who strive to do kind things for others. Thankfully, this story serves as a reminder that there really still are kind and decent people in the world!
After buying their dream home in Sydney, Australia, Amanda and her husband spent two years renovating the place to make it perfect. Amanda struggled for three years to get pregnant, as she miscarried over and over again. She was ecstatic when she finally got pregnant, but months into her pregnancy, the rug was ripped out from under her when her husband left her for another woman.
Not only did her husband leave her eight months pregnant, he also left her in massive debt since they had put all their savings into their house. Amanda was left both devastated and terrified, as she wondered what would happen to her poor baby. Luckily, she had a friend named Anna, who stuck with her through the tough times. Anna decided to reach out to her local radio station KIIS and ask if they would consider featuring Amanda on their Give Back segment.
The radio station then teamed up with local businesses for donations and services. When Amanda was invited to the station for the segment along with Anna, she had no idea what was in store for her. When explaining her situation to the audience, she said that the worst part of it was the uncertainty.
“It’s been about five weeks since it happened,” Amanda said through tears. “And the biggest thing is just the shock; I guess because it wasn’t really what we planned, or what I planned.”
Once Amanda was finished telling her story, the radio hostess revealed a television screen showing Amanda’s new home. A cameraman walked through the house highlighting all of the items that Amanda would be given as the host pointed them out. These gifts included a vacuum cleaner that symbolized the six months of free house cleaning someone donated; the refrigerator was from Eat Fit Food who would give and deliver meals to her for the next three months so she wouldn’t need to go grocery shopping. There was $4,000 of baby supplies along with a $1,000 voucher for baby pictures on the counter as well!
When the cameraman opened the oven, Amanda was shocked to see $10,000 in cash! This money will ensure that Amanda will not need to worry about paying her mortgage for a very long time.
“It means I don’t have to move now…I can’t thank you enough; I really can’t,” Amanda said as tears streamed down her face.
We applaud these strangers for coming together to help a pregnant mom who needed it! Check out her reaction to the surprise below!
