One of the most popular pop song in 2018 was “Despacito,” by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. The pop song was an instant hit with a fast but catchy Latin beat. However, this rendition is entirely unique and likely a version of the song that you’ve haven’t heard before.

Karolina Protsenko is a 9 year-old violinist who recently went viral with her performance of the song that she gave on a street corner in Santa Monica, California. She didn’t seem to have a hint of stage fright as she performed the song effortlessly!

Though she is only 9 years-old, Karolina plays with more skill than many adult violinists who have been playing for decades! She finished the song with a smile and a bow as the crowd applauded her.

Karolina posted the video below to her YouTube channel, which has over 100,000 subscribers.

“I am Karolina Protsenko,” the description of her YouTube channel reads. “I’ve been playing violin since I was 6 years old. My desire is to bring a little bit of magic and inspiration into the world through my love to violin. Thank you for helping me share the gift of music. I love you.”

Karolina enjoys covering popular pop songs like “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5. These are not songs that we are used to hearing on the violin, so Karolina has the chance to bring them to life in a whole new way.

Karolina is clearly an insanely talented youngster who loves performing with all her heart. It will be interesting to see where her career takes her as she gets older!

Check out Karolina’s performance for yourself in the video below!
