Meet Rocco, a mischievous little parrot who has figured out how to use his owner’s Amazon Alexa device to order snacks for himself.
Rocco, an African grey, has made fast friends with Alexa and was recently spotted using the device to tell jokes to and order snacks from. Rocco has often been caught attempting to purchase strawberries, ice cream and even a kettle, but thankfully, Alexa’s parental control preferences were on which prevented any of his items from being charged to his owner.
Owner Marion Wischnewski explained that she got Rocco after he was removed from a sanctuary run by the United Kingdom for swearing too much. That just goes to show how much personality this parrot has!
Marion also said that Rocco loves Alexa so much that he talks to her as much as forty times a day.
“He knows the telephone and can make different mobile ringtones,” she said. “He can do the microwave or the squeaking door on my fridge. He can do the ice cream van in the summer, and a truck reversing so loud you think it’s in your living room.”
Rocco has quickly found himself becoming a viral sensation, with social media users saying that they can’t get enough of him.
“What !? How did this parrot know how to do this??” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Wow that is so cool!”
“I wish Rocco was my pet, he sounds so funny!” a third user wrote.
We hope Rocco and Alexa have many years of happiness together to come!
