The television show “Beverly Hills 90210” was one of the most popular series of the 1990s. Fans are excited right now after it was revealed that a reboot of the show with the original cast is in the works.

The reboot of the teen drama is set to feature original cast members like Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris. The show is being run by writers and executive producers Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini, and it is currently being shopped around to both broadcast and streaming networks.

Many of the actors of the original series were spotted getting coffee together in Los Angeles earlier this month. It is not known if this revival will incorporate events from the last reboot of the show, which ran from 2008-2013 with a different cast.

Two stars who are noticeably absent from the reboot are are Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty, who played main characters Dylan McKay and Brenda Walsh on the original series. Perry is busy starring on the CW show “Riverdale,”

“At this time, due to his current deal with ‘Riverdale,’ Luke Perry could only guest star on a potential ‘90210’ reboot, and could not be a series regular,” said a source with “Riverdale.”

Rumors of a reboot have been swirling ever since March, when Spelling posted a photo of herself at CBS Studio Center on Instagram and tagged castmate Garth.

“back2work great creative day yesterday with my #partnerincrime @jenniegarth #90210vibes #donnaandkellyforever #besties,” she captioned the image, referring to the characters they played on the show.
