Stamps are something that we all need to send letters. While some people collect stamps and keep constant tabs on their cost, it’s actually important for everyone to keep track of this so that they can purchase stamps when the cost is low.
Experts are saying that you should stock up on stamps for 2019 right now, and we want to spread the word!

The price of stamps is set to dramatically increase throughout 2019, so people are rushing to stock up on Forever Stamps (which keep their value no matter the rate) before the historic price hike. Though it’s not set in stone and could change, the increase in price is currently set to take place on January 27, 2019.
On that date, the cost of sending a First Class Mail letter will go up to 55 cents (up 5 cents), but it should be noted that the extra fee for every ounce after the first is decreasing from 21 cents to just 15.
Five cents may sound like a small increase, but this is actually a huge deal, as it is the Post Office’s biggest price hike since 1991!

On top of that, the prices of Priority Mail Express are expected to rise 3.9%, which means that a 1 lb package in Zone 8 that currently costs $35.04 would jump to $36.52 in 2019.
Some prices are actually staying the same in 2019. For example, the cost for Large and Flat First Class Envelopes will stay at $1 for the first ounce and an extra 15 cents for every ounce afterward, and postcards will also continue to cost 35 cents each.
The bottom line is that if you want to cut the cost of sending your mail, be sure to stock up on Forever Stamps before January 27!
