Most people think of the British royal family as being very prim and proper. While they certainly do act regal much of the time, they also know how to have fun!

Each year, Queen Elizabeth hosts her family at her Sandringham estate for Christmas. Last year, Meghan Markle also joined the family for Christmas one month after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced. After the holiday, Harry revealed that Meghan fit in perfectly with his family during the celebration.

“The family loved having her there,” Harry said. “We had an amazing time staying with my brother and sister-in-law and running around with the kids.

“It’s like the family she’s never had,” he continued. “It was fantastic having her there. There’s always that family part of Christmas, there’s always that work element as well, and I think together we had an amazing time.”

Meghan was undoubtedly surprised to learn that the British royals have a longstanding tradition of giving hilarious gag gifts to each other. Last year, Harry gave his grandmother the Queen a humorous gift that got the whole world laughing!

Harry gave the Queen a bath hat emblazoned with the phrase, “Ain’t life a b***h.”

Though some would think that the Queen would be offended by this, she actually has quite a sense of humor, so she found the gift to be hilarious. The Queen and Harry have always been close, so they are able to laugh about the gag gifts that they give each other.

It’s fun to see that the British royal family has quirky traditions just like any other family does. We hope they had a great Christmas this week, and we can’t wait to find out what gifts they gave each other this year!
