A seven-year-old Knickers has found himself becoming a viral sensation after he was found to be too big for the slaughterhouse!
Knickers the steer, meaning a neutered male cow, was so big in size that he was unable to be processed at the slaughterhouse. Geoff Pearson, Knickers’ owner, explained that this ended up saving his life!
“We have a high turnover of cattle, and he was lucky enough to stay behind,” Geoff said.

A resident of Western Australia, Knickers stands at a towering 6ft 4in and weighs about 1.4 tonnes! This means that he is as tall as basketball legend Michael Jordan, and as heavy as a Mini Cooper!
Geoff also opened up about how Knickers got his name.
“When he was young, when we first got him, we had a Brahman steer [a breed of cattle] which was a friend of his,” he explained. “So his name was bra… so we [had] bra and knickers. We never thought he would turn into a big knickers.”
Geoff added that since being saved from the slaughterhouse, Knickers has found a new role on the farm as leader of the other animals.
“You’ll put him in a paddock and all the other cattle seem to get attracted to him,” Geoff said. “Whenever he wants to get up and start walking there’s a trail of hundreds of cattle following him. We all know when Knickers is on the move.”

We’re glad to see that Knickers has managed to survive and enjoy life on his farm! Find out more about this story in the video below!
