Travelers at the Tampa International Airport in Florida just got a huge surprise when they witnessed a service dog give birth to eight puppies!

Eleanor Rigby is a Labrador service dog who was traveling with her owner, Diane Van Atter, as well as the father of the puppies, Golden Nugget, when she suddenly went into labor at the airport! She ended up giving birth right in the middle of boarding Gate F80.

Ellie was in labor for three hours, and travelers were stunned as more and more puppies kept coming!
“I was here since puppy five. It’s on Instagram; We’re getting a lot of likes,” one traveler wrote on social media.
“A Service Dog named Ellie, short for Eleanor Rigby caused quite a stir at Tampa airport yesterday,” added Kristin Hamilton, another traveler. “The two-year-old yellow lab went into labor before boarding a plane to Philadelphia. Tampa Fire Rescue delivered seven puppies; 6 girls and one boy. Congratulation to the new mom and safe travels.”

Paramedics thankfully rushed to the scene to help Ellie through the birthing process. As a thank you to the paramedics, the puppies were named after them!
“They have our names of course! And of course, the last one’s Natalie, it’s a girl!” explained paramedic Natalie Brown.
“And Number two is Larry,” added her colleague, Larry Glanton.

Diane, Ellie, and Golden Nugget all missed their flight, but they didn’t seem to mind, as they were just happy that the puppies were healthy. What a treat for travelers to witness such a beautiful moment!
