People come in a variety of shapes and colors, and we should all be tolerant and understanding of each other no matter what our outside color is. But sadly, in today’s world, that doesn’t always happen.

Even with a sometimes drastic racial divide, one white mother took to social media to ask for help with her black daughter’s hair. She was worried about the backlash she would get, but instead, she got an overwhelmingly positive response.

Stephanie Hollifield adopted her little girl when she was just a few months old. Now that she’s two, Stephanie says she has struggled with how to handle her daughter’s curly hair.

The mother says she had tried putting oil in her hair, using special products, using a hot towel, and a variety of other tactics that she had learned about. Still, she never got the look she hoped for, and if she came close, within just a few hours, her daughter’s hair was right back the way it started.

Stephanie admits that she had never fixed hair like her daughter’s before and had no clue what she was doing. But an overwhelming amount of black women quickly jumped to her rescue with suggestions. It was one woman, Monica Hunter, that took Stephanie’s request a step further. She insisted on coming to Stephanie’s home and giving her a hands on lesson.

When Monica arrived, she had products in hand, special tools, and gave Stephanie a variety of techniques and tips as she showed her how to style her daughter’s hair.

Stephanie was thrilled with Monica’s guidance and the two have now formed a bond. Monica has three daughters herself and all of them were excited to be able to help out Stephanie and her daughter Haley.

It doesn’t look like this is a friendship that is going to end anytime soon. Stephanie says in a world that is sometimes filled with so much hate and division, she is grateful to have a friend like Monica.

Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends. We need more people in the world like these two ladies. It shouldn’t matter what our skin color is. We all need a friend.
