Everyone loves a good magic trick. Even as adults we can’t help but delight in the thrill of a trick that is well done and leaves us stumped. But kids are particularly excited about the magic and the mystery it entails.
Because of their loves for magic, as part of Military Appreciation Day at the Missouri State Fair, a stage was set up to perform a magic show for the kids of military parents. And boy were they in for a surprise. Situated in the front row was Keilanni and Noble Moore, ages four and five. Their mother is in the U.S. Navy and had been gone for a whopping 333 days. The kids had no idea when they would get to see their mother next.
Randy the magician performed several magic tricks, including making an American flag right before their eyes. Then he asked the two wide-eyed children in the front row if he could do a magic trick just for them. He told them he wanted to to a special magic trick for their mother, Nicole Moore, for her sacrifice of being in the military. The two children quickly agreed.
Randy pulled his helper, Mr. Stinky Feet, up on the stage and the two began to work their magic. He told Keilanni and Noble all they had to do was say the magic word, “please.”
When he opened up the curtain, someone very special appeared. It was their mother Nicole and it had been almost a year since they’d seen her. Keilanni didn’t hesitate to run to the stage, but Noble just sat in awe for a few seconds.
