Virtually all of us have spent at least some time in Ikea stores. Though some Ikea stores only allow humans inside, others are making a move to help animals in a way that is touching people all over the world.
An Ikea store in Catania, Italy has decided to do something huge to help the homeless dogs in their community by allowing the animals to sleep in their store on cold days and nights.
Martine Taccia is a local resident who was amazed and touched when she saw what the store was doing.
“It’s not a common thing,” she said. “The dogs receive daily food and pampering from IKEA’s employees and customers. Some dogs have even found a family, going home with customers.”
While the store has not officially announced this policy, many shoppers have noticed the abundance of dogs when they are inside the store. Pictures of the stray dogs getting some much needed rest in the store are sure to melt your heart.

Homeless dogs are the most vulnerable among us during the bitter winters so it’s wonderful to see Ikea provide a warm and safe haven for these dogs.
