Keith Burkett is a 12 year-old boy from Stow, Ohio who has been battling cancer for the past six years. His bravery in the face of cancer has earned him the nickname “Kourageous Keith” from his loved ones.

Last month, Keith was treated to an early Christmas celebration and parade, and his city made October 21 Keith Burkett Day. Keith was in hospice care at the time, and he had one final request for his mother that has touched the hearts of people all over the globe.

“Mama, I would like to walk you down the aisle before I die,” Keith said.

Keith’s mother Taylore had already eloped with his stepfather, and though she did not have the money for a proper wedding ceremony, she wanted to make sure her son’s wish came true. Online donations helped her to exceed her $3,500 goal to make this wedding happen!

Sadly, Keith’s health started to decline rapidly, so Taylore had to change the initial plans for the ceremony that she had.

“We think he is holding out to go down the aisle with me,” she explained.

In the video below this story, you’ll see the wedding ceremony that took place on November 9. Keith tragically passed away just three days later.

“Today at 12:57pm Keith earned his angel wings and it’s now in heaven in peace to be with god,” Taylore wrote on Facebook. “Mommy misses you so much already baby boy! You will always be with mommy! I don’t know how mommy is going to live without you! A piece of me will forever be gone. I promise you baby I’ll do my best! We love you so much baby!!”
