It’s been six months since Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, and though it has seemed like things have been going smoothly, new reports indicate that all might not be going as well as it seems.

A palace source said that three of Harry and Meghan’s aides have quit since their wedding, adding that it’s “starting to look like a stampede.” The aides who have left have been identified as Samantha Cohen, the couple’s private secretary, her predecessor Edward Lane Fox and most recently a personal assistant named Melissa, whose last name has not been publicly revealed.

“Melissa is a hugely talented person,” a source said of the latest exiting staffer. “She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.”

One source was critical of what these departures say about Harry and Meghan.

“To lose one member of the household could happen to anyone,” the source said. “To lose three in a few months is starting to look like a stampede.”

Samantha, an Australian woman who had helped Meghan settle into life as a royal, was given the nicknamed “Samantha the Panther” because of her determination and abrupt manner. She replaced Edward, who had been with Harry for fifteen years.

“His Royal Highness is hugely grateful to Ed for his hard work during a period that has seen the launch and growth of the Invictus Games, countless tours around the world, and the detailed planning for his wedding,” a spokesman for Harry said of Edward’s departure.

These reports indicate that perhaps Harry and Meghan are more difficult to deal with than they appear to be. However, it could also mean that they are simply trying to settle into their lives together and find the right staffers to help them through this transition.
