Firefighters and first responders are still risking their lives to battle the California wildfire that has killed 42 people and displaced thousands. Now, one restaurant is giving back to these brave rescue workers in a big way!
On Monday morning, CiCi’s Restaurant in Westlake Village offered firefighters and first responders a free breakfast as a thank you for all they are doing to help the people of California.
“I have to tell you, it’s so heartwarming,” a reporter said at the restaurant. “We’re seeing firefighters, sheriff’s deputies coming in right now, and people start clapping and cheering for them, and CiCi’s is giving them free meals — hot meals — after all of their hard work today.”
“It is very important, because, you know, they make us safe,” explained CiCi, the owner of the restaurant. “They take care of the property. They save people’s life days and nights… I want to be part of it, I want to say thank you, and I want to support them because they are so good to us.”
These rescue workers needed this now more than ever, as reports are saying that the fire is only going to get worse in the coming days. Experts say that even though the wildfire has been blazing for almost a week, it is still only 30 percent contained, and it will likely continue to spread even more. These firefighters and first responders have been through a lot already, yet they still have a ton of work ahead of them. God bless these brave rescue workers, and God bless this restaurant for doing something to give back to them!
