Randy Grim had recently lost his mother and had suffered medical scares of his own. So when something unexpected happened on a busy interstate in St. Louis, one good Samaritan knew exactly who to call.

You see, the good Samaritan was driving down the road next to a truck full of baby piglets that was headed to the slaughterhouse when one of the tiny three-week old piglets somehow fell out of the truck. The tiny piglet suffered a broken leg and some road rash, but remarkably wasn’t hit by any traffic. The good Samaritan stopped and picked up the little piglet and immediately called Randy.

Randy runs Randy’s Rescue Ranch and takes in large animals that have been abused as well as dogs that are in need of hospice. The good Samaritan was certain that Randy could help the pig. Although he had little experience with pigs, Randy was up to the challenge. He named the pig Pickles and got her the medical treatment that she needed.

Now Randy says he’s glad that Pickles won’t be headed to the slaughterhouse as planned. Although she will get up to 300 pounds or so when full grown, Randy says he’s glad to have her as part of his ranch.

Check out the video below to meet Pickles and learn more about Randy. Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends. Is there anything more adorable than a baby pig?
